Deacons serve the Church as ministers of Charity, the Word and the Altar, and can be a great support to parishes through the use of their gifts and charisms.
The Diocese of Saint John is beginning the process of introducing the Permanent Diaconate, and invites men aged 35-60 years who feel called to discern this vocation to attend an information session at Sainte Anne-des-Pays Bas in Fredericton on Saturday, December 10, from 10:00 am-12:00 pm.
Please RSVP to Fr. Ralph McRae, Episcopal Vicar for clergy at [email protected], or 506-653-6803.
Please note that eligible candidates must be a practising Roman Catholic in good health and be single or in a valid canonical marriage with a supportive wife willing to participate in formation and ministry. Candidates must also have experience in pastoral ministry, a good prayer life, good reputation, the ability to follow university-level courses and to work collaboratively, and an openness to growth.
